Working with Children with Complex Needs

Aim:
To develop an awareness and strategies to working with children with complex needs.
Objectives:

  • To gain a basic insight into working with children with Complex Needs such as;
    • ADHD
    • Autism
    • Domestic violence backgrounds
    • Parents with a history of alcohol & drug abuse
  • To develop skills and strategies to help you deal with the day to day difficulties.

Training Method
Tutor input, Question and answer session, Group work Case Studies, Practice of skills
Course Materials
All participants will receive a course booklet containing all the key ideas and support material covered on the course.
Course length

1 Day, 10am - 230pm.

Suitability

This course is suitable for Residential Care Staff, Care Support Staff, Foster Carers, Social Workers, Teachers and Learning Support Assistance.
