Working with Young People and Gang Culture

Aim:
To develop people skills and knowledge when working with young people & gang culture.
Objectives:

• Look at how we define gangs and whether our perceptions differ from those of young people involved in gangs
• Consider whether young people form gangs or join them?
• What do these groupings offer young people?
• Examine antisocial behaviour versus criminality
• Learn about aggression and violence in young people
• Get an overview of adolescence and brain development plan the way ahead.

Training Method
Tutor input, Question and answer session, Group work Case Studies, Practice of skills
Course Materials
All participants will receive a course booklet containing all the key ideas and support material covered on the course.

Course length

1 Day, 10am - 230pm.
