To gain a closer look at Developmental Trauma and the impact that it has on children and young people and also the carers who manage the effects if trauma on a daily basis.
Although it may appear that children and young people have many different and complex emotional problems and challenges. The training demonstrates that such problems can be traced to five biological based principles such as the need for connection, attunement, trust, autonomy and love.
Objectives:
- You will learn how early trauma impairs the capacity for connection to self and others and how this closes their emotions of feeling, fantastic, alive, great, positive and ability to connect.
- You will learn how to teach the child/young person to regulate the nervous system and resolve distortions of identity such as low self esteem, shame and chronic self judgement of themselves which is a direct result of Developmental Trauma.
- The training teaches the carers not to ignore or minimise by working on the present moment to focus on the child/young person’s strengths, resources and resiliency in order to integrate the experience of connections with others and our environment.
