Aim:
To develop participant knowledge in Supporting children overcome emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
Objectives:

  • Understanding difference between mental illness and mental health
  • Understanding how families and professionals respond to children suffering from mental health and mental illness in children
  • Types and characteristic presentation on mental illness in children
    • Attention deficiency and over activity
    • Conduct disorder
    • Anxiety disorders including PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
    • Affective illness including suicide
    • Drug and alcohol abuse
    • Schizophrenia
    • Somatoform illness
    • Eating Disorders

Course Materials
All participants will receive a course booklet containing all the key ideas and support material covered on the course.
Training Method
Tutor input, Question and answer session, Group work Case Studies, Practice of skills
Course length

1 Day, 10am - 230pm.
