Aims:
•To develop the knowledge and skills to support the care of young people in Remand Care.
Objectives:
•What is Remand Care?
•The Youth Justice System and their role
•Gain an understanding of the children and young people who may become involved in offending behaviour
•Introduction to the different interventions including bail, remand and the respective requirements
•What carers have to do for young people in remand care, i.e. tag box in home etc.
•Information on the types of Court Orders, interventions on offer, Court set-up and expectations of staff/foster carers.

Tutor input, Question and answer session, Group work Case Studies, Practice of skills
Course Materials
All participants will receive a course booklet containing all the key ideas and support material covered on the course.
Course length
1 Day, 10am - 230pm. Number of trainings is dependent upon what the organisation psecifically require

This course is suitable for Foster Carers, Residential Care Staff, Teachers, Care Support Staff and Social Workers.
