Safer Recruitment
Aims
- To identify and explore effective safeguarding practice related to staff recruitment
- To become confident in embedding good safeguarding practice in staff recruitment
- To update on the wider context for the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults
Objectives
- To understand key drivers of the safeguarding agenda
- To develop a detailed, practical, systematic approach to embedding safeguarding in appropriate staff recruitment activity
- To identify relevant aspects of the Independent Safeguarding Authority
- Vetting and Barring checks and how they apply to the recruitment of staff
- To place safer recruitment in the context of a whole organisation approach to safeguarding
Training Method
Tutor input, Question and answer session, Group work Case Studies, Practice of skills
Course Materials
All participants will receive a course booklet containing all the key ideas and support material covered on the course.
Course length
1 Day, 10am - 230pm.
