Aim:
To build participant knowledge and skills in Working with Sexually Abused Children.

Objectives:

  • To enable agencies to establish effective partnerships with caregivers
  • Providing carers with information they can use
  • Arranging for practical parenting support that directly relates to the needs of these children
  • Creating a safe place for your child
  • Recognising child sexual abuse
  • Understanding the impact of sexual abuse
  • How we can help children who have been sexually abused
  • The question of therapy and building resilience

Training Method
Tutor input, Question and answer session, Group work Case Studies, Practice of skills
Course Materials
All participants will receive a course booklet containing all the key ideas and support material covered on the course.
Course length

1 Day, 10am - 230pm.

This course is suitable for Residential Care Staff, Care Support Staff, Foster Carers, Social Workers, Teachers and Learning Support Assistance.
